BBL HEROic™ is a new and improved intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment. It’s gentler and broader in impact, targeting both hyperpigmentation and vascularity to colour-correct for a more even complexion. With BBL, you can get glowing skin from your head down to your chest in less time than it takes standard IPL treatments. BBL can be added to your HALO, MOXI, or Tribrid appointment for a more comprehensive skin treatment.

What are HALO, MOXI, and BBL Skin Treatments?

Developed by Sciton, HALO Tribrid™ combines ablative and non-ablative laser technology to improve skin tone, texture, and durability on the face, neck, and chest. It can be tailored to prevent or correct age-related changes

The HALO Tribrid™ uses three distinct laser wavelengths that impact the skin at multiple depths. These wavelengths can be set up multiple ways to create highly personalized treatment plans, ranging from gentle resurfacing to deeper skin renewal. The Tribrid can be used in two unique Sciton treatments:

1. HALO: Dual-functioning resurfacing that targets surface-level concerns like pigmentation and skin texture, as well as improving visible signs of aging for all skin tones.
2. MOXI: A non-ablative treatment that improves complexion and early signs of aging for all skin tones. It revitalizes the skin with relatively less downtime, making it ideal for prevention and maintenance.
3. HALO + MOXI: Mix of superficial and deep skin resurfacing. Combines the colour correction capabilities of MOXI with the skin fortification of HALO. Can be combined with BBL for more results

BBL HEROic™ is another Sciton treatment that releases light energy onto the top layers of skin. This energy breaks up skin cells responsible for hyperpigmentation and vascularity. The consequent heat emitted during this process triggers your body to produce collagen, promoting radiant and youthful skin. There are two BBL treatment types that you can access through our clinic:

1. Forever Clear: For active acne and acne scarring, this protocol involves anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and restorative light attachments. Results can be seen within just 1 week, and 3-6 treatments are recommended.
2. Forever Young: For loss of skin elasticity and tone, this protocol boosts collagen production to strengthen the skin barrier and minimize signs of aging. Results can be seen within 2-3 weeks, and 1-3 treatments are recommended.

This innovative technology helps brighten complexion, refine texture, and stimulate skin renewal from within. With the broad array of wavelengths, patients can experience a variety of combinations to target different concerns:

How are HALO, MOXI, and BBL Performed?

Your treatment begins with a personalized consultation to discuss your concerns and develop a customized treatment plan. Your appointment will proceed as follows:

1. The treatment area will be thoroughly cleansed.
2. For laser treatments, a topical numbing cream is applied for comfort (typically takes 30 minutes to set). For BBL treatments, a sapphire crystal embedded into the device helps to cool the skin.
3. For BBL, a contact gel is applied to help deliver the light energy evenly. Contact gel is not required for laser treatments.
4. The handheld device is passed over the skin, delivering precise wavelengths to the targeted areas.

Appointments for HALO, MOXI, and BBL are scheduled for 1-2 hours, depending on the area of concern and the desired combination of treatments. After your session, you will receive detailed aftercare instructions to support healing. You will also be advised on recovery time, which ranges from 2 to 5 days based on the depth of the skin resurfacing.

Improvements in the skin can appear within a week, with continued improvement over time. Your provider will suggest the best approach based on your individual goals. Recommended treatment plans may include:

• HALO: 1-2 sessions for more significant correction, with optional yearly follow-up
• MOXI: 3-4 sessions spaced 4-5 weeks apart for more preventative care
• BBL: 3-4 appointments spaced 1 month apart, with semi-annual sessions for maintenance

Who Are the Best Candidates for HALO, MOXI, and BBL?

HALO, MOXI, and BBL are suitable if you are looking to improve overall skin quality, whether it’s superficial concerns or deeper skin issues. They’re each ideal for patients seeking a personalized treatment that can be adjusted for both preventative and corrective outcomes.

Treatment may not be recommended if you have an active skin infection in the treatment area or certain medical conditions that affect skin recovery. Always inform your provider if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have relevant medical concerns.

Preparing for HALO, MOXI, and BBL Skin Treatments

Preparation for HALO, MOXI, and BBL skin treatments is simple. We ask that you limit active ingredients, like retinol, at least 1 week prior to your appointment. Patients are also advised against immediate sun exposure for 24-48 hours following treatment and should avoid tanning and tanning sprays before and after, as these can impede your results.

Recovery Following HALO, MOXI, and BBL Skin Treatments

Recovery from laser-based treatments can vary based on the intensity and type of laser. Ablative lasers require longer recovery due to the impact on the epidermis, while non-ablative lasers take little downtime.

For each of these treatments, patients may feel mild tingling and warmth, similar to a sunburn, afterwards. You may also experience redness or increased pigmentation, which will fade and flake off soon after.

How Much Do HALO, MOXI, and BBL Cost?

HALO costs $1,500 and MOXI costs $750 for a full face treatment. BBL HEROic costs $550 for the full face. The complete HALO Tribrid costs $2,100 and you can pair it with BBL HEROic for $2,300.
